Our September club meeting will be held Monday, Sept. 13at T-Bones Restaurant located at the Best Western Rt. 39, in Lexington, VA. Dinner at 6 pm will be followed by our meeting at 7 pm. We welcome all dog owners--newbies and experienced--who want to be part of a fun-loving group.

A little bit about us....

SWKC was established in 2006 by a dedicated group of dog owners with the goal of forming an AKC-affiliated club in the Lexington/Rockbridge Co. area of Virginia. Since that time, we've grown and held a variety of events, including training classes, Responsible Dog Ownership Days (held annually in downtown Lexington), and last spring, our first My Dog Votes Day event to raise public awareness of the dangers of anti-dog legislation.

Our members represent a wide variety of interests in the world of dogs- we have experienced "Obedience people", " "Conformation people", "Pet People", "Agility people", "Rally people", and even "Tracking people"!!
No matter what your particular area of interest, if it involves dogs, there is truly a place for you in SWKC.
This diversity and experience allows SWKC to hold a wide variety of fun events and workshops for newcomers to the dog community as well as our own membership.
We try to schedule things throughout the year that are both fun and educational for dogs and people alike...so please remember to bookmark this page and check our Events calendar often.
Or better yet, attend one of our monthly meetings, where we sit around and decide what events, classes, and workshops we're going to hold!
Regular monthly meetings are held the first Monday of each month at Gee Willikers' Restaurant in Lexington, VA. Meetings begin at 7PM, but feel free to join us at 6 for dinner and "dog talk" - and be sure to bring pictures of your dog to share!
SWKC welcomes new members, whether they are "old dog hands" new to the area, or total newbies to the dog world looking for help and support.
